How do I share files with my Primary Designee for them to access now?

You may choose to share documents with your Primary Designee now or in the future. DocuGuardian defaults all uploaded content to Share in the Future. It is your responsibility to change uploaded content to a Share Now state so that your Primary Designee has immediate access to the content. This can be particularly useful in the case of Advanced Directives where you want your Primary Designee to have immediate access if needed.

The following instructions apply to content that you are uploading for the first time or are already in your vaults.

Note: While the sharing now or in the future process is reversible, always take extra care with what and who you share your content with.

Log in to your DocuGuardian account.
Click on My Vault to display your vaults:

Then select the vault that contains the content you would like to share. The image below shows a sample Legal & Estate vault after vault selection (in this case, Legal & Estate):

Select the file you would like to share now. Clicking the document opens the document details in a panel on the right side of your screen:

Then select Edit at the bottom of the details panel in the To be shared with section:

You will see that the file selected defaulted to Share in the Future:

To share the file now with your Primary Designee, simply select the Share Now button:

Then click Save to complete:
