How do I change my Two-Factor Authentication method?

  1. Log in to your DocuGuardian account.

  2. In the menu, select My Account & Settings:

  1. Click on Password & Security:

  1. In the Two-Factor Authentication section, select the method you want to switch to by clicking either Set Authentication App or Set Email Address:

  1. If switching to an Authenticator App:

    1. Select Set Authentication App:

  1. You will see a confirmation message informing you that this will replace your current 2FA method. Click Continue:

  1. You will be taken to a setup screen with a QR code and backup text code:

  1. Open an Authentication App such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator on your phone:

(NOTE: Authentication Apps can be downloaded at The App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android)


  1. Use the Authentication App to scan the QR code (Or input the text code if unable).


  1. The Authentication App will register the code under DocuGuardian and begin generating 6-digit verification codes.


  1. Enter the generated code shown in the Authentication App for DocuGuardian into the confirmation field on the website and click Confirm:

  1. You will receive a message confirming that Two-Factor Authentication has been enabled:

  1. If switching to Email authentication:

    1. Click Set Email Address:

  1. You will see a confirmation message letting you know this will replace your current method. Click Continue.

  2. A security code will be sent to the email address on file as shown.  Select Confirm:

(Note: The email in the screen will default to the email used to sign up for your membership)


  1. Enter the confirmation code from your email and click Confirm:

  1. You will receive a message confirming that Two-Factor Authentication has been Enabled.
